The project is an extension to the International Business College in Kolding, the setting for the creative teaching of
foundation course students. The new wing is sympathetic to the character of the existing building, built of the same red
brick. By the same token, the uppermost horizontal strip of ribbon windows is framed by a copper border that runs the full
length of the façade, fastening onto the original building and thereby providing a vividly articulated connecting link.
The interior is centered around a three-storey high atrium with a reflecting pond at its base. Two classroom zones flank the
atrium while seminar rooms of various sizes float in the atrium space. The teaching requires two types of space: the more
enclosed classroom zones and the open and visible seminar rooms. The building is designed with two distinct types of
spaces to cater to the two forms of learning, that is the concentrated class-based teaching and the more practical, learning-
by-doing methods. At the base of the atrium, retail outlets and offices are located. This space may also be used for large
meetings and lectures.
作为国际商学院在科灵的分校，该项目专门为基础课程的学生提供创造性的教学。为了表达对现有
建筑物的尊重，新建的一侧建筑采用相同的红砖建成。同样，最上面的水平带形窗的窗框也都是铜包边
的，横贯整个立面，与原有建筑形成紧密的连接，从而对旧建筑的传承提供了一种生动的阐述。
建筑内部是围绕着一个3层通高的庭院布置的，底层庭院中间有一方映着天光的池塘。两个课堂区位
于中庭的侧翼，不同大小的研讨室则浮动在中庭的上方。教学需要两种类型的空间：相对封闭的课堂教
学区和开放可见的研讨室。建筑容纳了这两种截然不同类型的空间以满足两种不同的学习形式：一是基
于教室的集中性的教学，二是更实际、边学边做的学习。在中庭的底层，设计师设置了零售网点和办公
